Suffering in and of itself is meaningless. We give our suffering meaning by the way in which we respond to it. Acceptance of the things I cannot change, courage to change the things that I can, and wisdom to know the difference is why I am still here.
I'm a victim of the unjust, unbalanced, spirit-stealing system but I'm being strong, trying to make it, and fighting hard to regain my freedom and get back to my family. Louisiana law stacks the deck and steals your chips along the way. Life is life and no second chances are given. You either got to find a way or make one, and somebody's holding your ankles the whole time. Judges are colorblind and stuck in slavery times. Louisiana law is based on money and it isn't funny how a white man can take a life and keep his, but if you're black your money don't spend to convince them you're innocent. The walls of Louisiana prisons don't discriminate against one thing the hands of a black man. I'm a people person, open to making anyone my friend, no matter where you come from or where you're trying to go. My hands are tied and I need some help.
